Ex-GM: Dodgers Should Offer Gavin Lux & Keibert Ruiz For Francisco Lindor

With free agency officially kicking off, we now look at several scenarios that could possibly impact the Dodgers.

In an article in the Athletic, former general manager Jim Bowden says that three teams could explore a blockbuster trade for All-Star Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor. The three teams that he highlights are the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Here is what it would take to get Lindor over to Los Angeles according to Bowden:

The Dodgers would have to include their top shortstop prospect, Gavin Lux, if they want to acquire Lindor in a trade, and that’s reportedly something they don’t want to do. Lux, 21, hit a combined .347 this past year with 26 home runs, 76 RBIs and 10 stolen bases at both Double A and Triple A. To include Lux in a deal, they need to extend Lindor at the time of the trade. I don’t think Lux would get Lindor straight up, so LA would have to put one other solid prospect in the trade, like catcher Keibert Ruiz (who’s arguably expendable because of Will Smith).
Lux and Ruiz would be a strong return for the Indians, getting two everyday players with significant upside. If LA is fortunate enough to make the trade without Lux, then it almost assuredly would have to replace him in the trade with either outfielder Alex Verdugo or pitcher Tony Gonsolin. This type of deal could also get expanded to include starting pitcher Corey Kluber in the trade going to Los Angeles.....

The Dodgers could be ready to make bold moves this offseason following another playoff exit. Who should they make a run at?
