Austin Hedges On a Disappointing Padres Season & His Offensive Struggles

After a strong offensive finish to the second half of the 2018 season, Austin Hedges and the Padres had higher hopes of a more consistent approach at the plate in 2019. Add the signing of Manny Machado to the lineup, along with Eric Hosmer, Hunter Renfroe, and perhaps Wil Myers, there was a reasonable expectation that Hedges could do what he is so elite at, catch a strong game and do enough offensively to contribute to the team.

Instead, Hedges struggled to reach the .200 mark and lost his starting job to Francisco Mejia, before an oblique injury landed him on the injured list.

Hedges discussed another very disappointing season for the Padres, his own offensive struggles and why he changed lockers.
