Fernando Tatis Jr. Tests Positive for COVID-19, Padres Confirm

San Diego Padres v San Francisco Giants

On Tuesday the San Diego Padres announced that star shortstop, Fernando Tatis Jr. had tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made by Padres manager Jayce Tingler, who said that Tatis is asymptomatic but because of the league's "health and safety protocols," Tatis has been placed on the injured reserve list.

The announcement came prior to the team's first-of-three game series against the Colorado Rockies. The Padres have had to make roster adjustments for Tatis along with teammates Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo, because they are were close contact with Tatis.
