Astros Face Cheating Accusation and Possible MLB Investigation

Were the Astros videotaping the Red Sox during Game 1 of the ALCS? According to a story in the Boston Metro Times, Houston might have some explaining to do.

The Times reports a man claiming to be an Astros employee was removed from Fenway Park by security for having a camera and texting from his phone while standing in the credentialed media area next to the Sox dugout.

The MLB said they are aware of the situation and told the paper via email that "it will be handled internally."

This isn't the first time allegations of the Astros taping their opposing teams has been raised. Cleveland warned the Sox "that Houston would attempt to steal signs and information" and in August, the Athletics brought up their own concerns to the league.

These allegations come on the heels of a social media uproar yesterday over Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes' possible use of pine tar when throwing the ball from center plate.
