The National Basketball Association announced it has fined the Los Angeles Clippers $25,000 "for violating league injury reporting rules" regarding the status of Paul George, Norman Powell, and Russell Westbrook during Sunday's (April 14) loss to the Houston Rockets in their final regular-season game.
"The NBA announced today that the LA Clippers have been fined $25,000 for violating league injury reporting rules," the league said in a press release shared on Friday (April 19). "The Clippers failed to accurately disclose the availability status of Paul George, Norman Powell, and Russell Westbrook prior to their game against the Houston Rockets on April 15. None of the three players played, and none were listed on the team's injury report as being out due to injury or rest."
The Clippers had both Kawhi Leonard and James Harden on their injury report last Sunday, but failed to list any other players, including George, Powell and Westbrook, all of whom were inexplicably absent, along with most of their other regular rotation players.
The Clippers are the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference standings and will face the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (April 21) afternoon.
