If you are looking to buy a home in San Diego, you will likely need to make a six-figures in order to be eligible for one.

Visual Capitalist, an online financial magazine, compiled data from Home Sweet Home, showing the average media salary needed to buy a home in the 50 most expensive metro areas in America.

San Diego is ranked third on the list. The median price of a home in San Diego is currently $905,000. In order to buy a home in this range, a buyer would need to make a salary of $166,828 a year.

Rounding out the top three are San Francisco at number two, with a median home price of $1.38 million, with a person needing a salary of $249,685 a year in order to puchase.

Number one was San Jose with a median home price of $1.88 million, and person needing a salary of $330,758 a year to buy.
