Golden State Joins Elite Company in 2022 Championship Run

At this point, we all know that the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals for the fourth time in eight seasons. Not only did they defy the preseason odds to prove the doubters wrong (+1100), but they did it in a place that only one other team ever has done it - in one of the most hostile environments in sports - Boston.

The Warriors cement themselves with some pretty incredible company, the 1985 Lakers. Yup, that Lakers team composed of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Bob McAdoo, and Byron Scott. That Lakers team widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time and finished with 62 wins that season.

The Warriors handled adversity unlike we've seen in the modern NBA the last three seasons. Klay Thompson suffered a career (maybe life) altering injury, Draymond was inconsistent, and the team seemed in a tough place after top pick, James Wiseman, had trouble staying healthy. But, as Steve Kerr's teams do, they adjusted - and executed.

Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for winning the 2022 NBA Finals.
