The father of Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is dead at the age of 87. Jim Garrett, who worked as a scout for the Cowboys from 1987-through-2004, died Friday after battling the effects of a stroke since 2012. Garrett also coached in the NFL with the Giants, Saints, and Browns and scouted for Dallas in two other stints in the late sixties and mid-seventies.
Garrett is survived by his wife, eight children, 28 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
