When I went back to school to get into broadcasting in Denver, one of our professors was a producer for a sports television show. She went to school at CU. Originally she wanted to work in news. When asked why she got into sports, her answer was simple: Columbine.

The CU Broadcast department had relations with CNN. They are asked to cover events if CNN needs them to. She was one of the first on the scene on that horrific day at Columbine high school in 1999. It haunted her so badly she no longer wanted to work in news. Certainly understandable.

I've worked in sports broadcasting for five years now. Today will be the first I will need to cover a terrorist attack. Why? Because terrorism and sports have converged.

Thoughts and prayers are with those that are dealing with todays tragedy in Boston.

Talk to you at 3.
