Alex Rodriguez says that his season-long suspension from baseball could end up benefitting him, allowing him time to rest before returning to the New York Yankees to play the final three years of his contract.

2. Not His Bess Decision

The Cleveland Browns say that they are aware of potentially incriminating photos posted by WR Davone Bess on his Twitter account.

Bess posted a photo on Thursday of a small package containing what appears to be marijuana. Some of the substance is out of the bag and on a table.

Bess missed the team's final 2 games of the year for personal reasons.

3. Price is Right for the Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays today gave David Price a one-year deal worth $14 million. The move was made so that both sides could avoid arbitration.

Price, who was being shopped around to other teams earlier this offseason, is now under contract with the Rays through the 2015 season.

4. Rondo to Make Debut Friday

Earlier today, Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed what has long been suspected: Barring any setback, Rajon Rondo will make his 2013-14 season debut on Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Maine Red Claws from the NBA's Development League, traveled to Boston to practice with the Celtics and Rondo in what was the team's final test of Rondo's surgically-repaired knee.

5. Norv Turner Going to Vikings as O.C.

New Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has begun building his staff, and that staff now includes former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Turner was brought to Cleveland last year along with Rob Chudzinski, who was let go after the team's final regular season game.
